Mount Forest pool closes after failing inspection

An outdoor pool in Mount Forest has been closed following a failed public health inspection.

In a release, the Township of Wellington North says the Mount Forest Lion Roy Grant Pool has been permanently closed, after "extensive repairs and costs were identified in order to re-open."

The township noted that $200,000 has been allocated towards the design and development of a new Mount Forest Outdoor Pool and Aquatics Centre
Staff were also asked to bring a report to council, giving consideration to transportation options and subsidies for those impacted.
All aquatics programming in Mount Forest has been cancelled, and a full refund is being offered to anyone affected by the closure.
