Wingham and District Hospital Foundation receives grant from Leland and Thora Vance Fund

The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation has received a grant to help purchase new equipment.

A release states the grant for $63,720 is from the Leland and Thora Vance Fund held at Kitchener Waterloo Community Foundation. The money will be going towards the purchase of new IV pumps to replace the current batch in use at the Wingham Hospital. The pumps are a key piece of medical equipment with over 90 components and they are used to help care for and treat a variety of medical needs for patients in multiple hospital departments.

The release also shares that "Leland and Thora Vance were long-time residents and business owners in Wingham. They cared deeply about the community and wanted to continue to support it even beyond their lifetimes. As such, they created an endowment fund with Kitchener Waterloo Community Foundation. This donation to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation is a disbursement from that fund."
