OPP identify drowning victim

A man from Burlington has been identified as the individual who drowned in Lake Huron this week.

Robert Klingbeil, 50, was pulled from the water just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29.

Grey Bruce OPP, Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation Police, Saugeen Shores Fire Department, Sauble Beach Fire Department, Grey County Paramedic Services all responded to the call.

Emergency personnel tried to resuscitate the victim but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Grey Bruce OPP are continuing to investigate with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
