UPDATE: SUV driver dead after crash outside Exeter

Huron County OPP continues to investigate a fatal crash near Exeter.

Monday's crash happened just after 4:30 p.m.

The OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services and the South Huron Fire Department all responded to the call about the incident on MacDonald Road near Parr Line.

Investigators say a cross-over sport utility vehicle was travelling eastbound on MacDonald Road when the vehicle collided head-on with a bridge guardrail. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The deceased has since been identified as John Freeswick, 48, from Dashwood.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place Tuesday.

Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
