Kincardine councillor reprimanded for breaching code of conduct

A Kincardine councillor is having his pay suspended and was reprimanded for uttering a misogynistic slur at another councillor during a council meeting on April 4, 2022.

Monday night, council received an Integrity Commissioners report, prepared by the law firm of Aird & Berlis.

Cuyler was reprimanded for breaching the council's Code of Conduct and council formally denounced his actions. His remuneration is being suspended for 90 days.

In a statement from Mayor Gerry Glover, he says Kincardine council is "committed to achieving the highest standards of conduct in its actions which is essential to maintaining and ensuring public trust and confidence."

Some councillors had called for Cuyler to resign.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
