OPP identify deceased in fatal accident near Exeter

Huron County OPP officers continue to investigate a fatal motor vehicle collision that took place yesterday afternoon.

Emergency responders attended the scene of the collision on MacDonald Road near Parr Line, at about 4:40pm Monday. 

The preliminary investigation revealed an SUV was travelling eastbound on MacDonald Road when the vehicle collided head-on with a bridge guardrail. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The deceased has since been identified as John Freeswick, 48 years of age from Dashwood.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place today.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
