Visits restricted at Mount Forest hospital due to outbreak

The Louise Marshall Hospital (LMH) in Mount Forest declared a COVID-19 outbreak on Saturday.

North Wellington Health Care said "two hospital-acquired infections were identified on the inpatient unit," which prompted the outbreak declaration.

"The exact variant of COVID-19 is not known at this time," a statement read.

Currently, no inpatient visits are allowed at the hospital, though several services remain open, including:

• the emergency department

• diagnostic imaging

• ambulatory care (including oncology)

• day surgery (not requiring hospital admission)

LMH is working with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) to respond to the outbreak.
