Canadian Blood Services to host local blood drives in August

Canadian Blood Services will be hosting three local blood drives next month.

The first will be held August 2nd in Mount Forest at the Mount Forest and District Recreation Complex from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. The next two will both be held in Owen Sound at the Owen Sound Legion. The first of those will be held on August 3rd, the next will be the 31st, and both will run from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. They are accepting appointments only, which you can book at Blood.ca or by calling 1-888-2-DONATE.

In a release, Canadian Blood Services says their donor base during the pandemic dropped by 31,000, and they are in desperate need of blood, particularly O-negative donors, because that is a universal blood type that can be used to save lives.
