Police lay charges in fake gun investigation in Palmerston

A 23-year-old is facing weapons charges after police were called to a Palmerston residence for reports of a man with a gun.

The call came in around 9 p.m. on Monday. Police were told there was a person with what appeared to be a handgun on Jane Street.

Officers arrested a 23-year-old Palmerston man and charged him with pointing a firearm and possession of a an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose.

No one was hurt.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
