Chapman's Ice Cream to host Ukranian families

Chapman's Ice Cream is teaming up with the city of Owen Sound to host Ukranian families that have been displaced due to Russia's war of aggression.

The Markdale-based company has leased a building from the city for two years to host several Ukrainian families in four apartments.

Organizers say three families from Ukraine will soon move into the temporary homes.

Earlier this year, Chapman's collaborated with several Ontario businesses to send eight pallets of medical supplies to Ukraine, including just over 1,600 intermediate high-risk first aid kits, which were send to areas effected by Russian bombing.

The company also donated $50,000 to the Canada Ukraine Foundation.
