Man faces charges after fleeing from police

A driver without a license is facing charges following an attempted flight from police in Grey County.

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police say they were doing proactive patrols in the Municipality of Grey Highlands when they pulled over a vehicle on the afternoon of Thursday, July 14th.

The driver fled the scene, but was located shortly after at a local business.

A 24-year-old faces several charges, including flight from a peace officer, careless driving, driving a vehicle without a license, and possession of unmarked cigarettes.

The accused will appear in Owen Sound court at a later date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
