Police investigating fatal crash in Perth County

Perth County OPP say one person has died as a result of a fatal crash this afternoon.

Police say just after 12:30 p.m. this afternoon (July 25th), officers responded along with Perth County Paramedic Services, and the Perth East Fire Department, to a serious motor vehicle collision on Line 29, at Road 111, in the Township of Perth East. A passenger vehicle and commercial motor vehicle had collided, causing the passenger vehicle to roll. One person was extricated from the passenger vehicle and transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased. There were no other injuries reported.

The area around Line 29 and Road 111 remains closed and police say it will likely be closed for a few more hours as they continue their investigation. More updates as police make them available. If anyone witnessed this collision, please contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
