Fatality reported in Southgate following aircraft collision

One person has died following an aircraft collision in Southgate Township.

On Monday evening, Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police confirm they responded to a report of an aircraft collision in a field located off of Southgate Township Road 4, north of Highway 89 between Mount Forest and Keldon. The occupant of what police call an ultralight glider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada is investigating the crash.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Grey Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
