UPDATE: Police confirm another victim has died following crash in Mapleton Township

Police say a passenger injured in a fatal crash has now also succumbed to their injuries.

On July 25th at 3:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a crash alongside local EMS and ORNGE Air to a crash involving a commercial motor vehicle and a pickup truck at the intersection of Wellington Road 8 and Wellington Road 10. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger was airlifted to a nearby trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, where they were later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the pickup truck has been identified as 76-year-old Robert Geffs, 76-years-old, and the passenger has been identified as 29-year-old Mark Albrecht. Both victims were from the Tiverton area. Police continue to investigate the crash. If anyone has any information, please contact Wellington County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
