Temporary Emergency Department closures in Wingham and Listowel

Hospitals in Wingham and Listowel will have their emergency departments closed at different points over the weekend.

It's to do with staff shortages.

Wingham's Emergency Department will be closed Saturday at 5 p.m .and re-open Sunday at 7 a.m.

Listowel's Emergency Department will be closed Sunday at 5 a.m. and re-open at 7 p.m.

Staffing shortages continue to affect health care, including shortages of nurses, physicians, laboratory, allied health and support staff.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency and Emergency Medical Services will remain available to the community and will be re-routed to surrounding hospitals.

Non-urgent calls can be made to Health Connect Ontario at 811.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
