Fatal fire in Collingwood

Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are presently on scene of a fire at a residence in Collingwood.

OPP officers along with the Collingwood Fire Department responded to the residential fire shortly after 7:00 a.m. this morning which took place on Moberly Street in the Town of Collingwood.

Investigation is ongoing however it has been confirmed that one person has died, and two others were taken to hospital with minor injuries. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending next of kin notification.

Members of the Office of the Fire Marshal have been called in to investigate the blaze and further details will be released when they become available.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
