Former Owen Sound City Manager passes away

Flags will be lowered to half mast Wednesday in memory of a long time City of Owen Sound leader.

A media release states former City Manager, Harvey James “Jim” Harrold passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2022.

Flags will be lowered to half-mast at City Hall in his honour.

Mr. Harrold’s love of art led him to the Board of the Tom Thomson Art Gallery, where he was Vice Chair for seven years before going on to become the Academic and Campus Director for Georgian College, Owen Sound Campus.

He then went on to serve as City Manager from 2007 - 2010.

“On behalf of my Council colleagues, staff and the residents of the city, I offer my condolences to his family members and friends,” said Mayor Ian Boddy.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
