Deceased person pulled from Irish Lake by police

The Grey-Bruce OPP pulled a deceased person from a local body of water last Thursday.

According to a release from police, on August 4th just after 9:50 p.m., the Grey Bruce OPP, Grey Highlands Fire Department and Grey County Paramedic Services responded to a report of an overdue person in the area of Irish Lake in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. The following day on August 5th at 11:40 a.m., police confirmed that the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit  removed a deceased individual from the water. They have been identified as 41-year-old Grey Highlands native Cliff Peddle.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this death alongside the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
