Bruce County announces new Director of Planning and Development

Bruce County has announced their new Director of Planning and Development.

A release on the county website states that Claire Dodds will be assuming the role effective September 12th. According to the release, Dodds will "oversee the continued development of the new Official Plan, as well as significant economic planning strategies and programs, including those supporting business recovery." Dodds is a Registered Planning Professional with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners. She has been the Director of Development Services for the Township of South Frontenac since 2018.

Dodds grew up in Bruce County and has strong ties to the area. She earned her Master of Science degree in Rural Planning and Development from the University of Guelph.

“We extend a warm welcome to Claire Dodds, our new Director of Planning and Development, who will lead the Department to finalize our new Official Plan, which will act as our roadmap for growth and development for the next 25 years,” says CAO Derrick Thomson.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
