Cyclist dies in collision in Blue Mountains

A lone cyclist died following a serious collision in the Blue Mountains.

The Blue Mountains OPP say in a release that officers responded alongside the Blue Mountains Fire Department just before 6 p.m. yesterday (August 11th) to the scene of a fatal collision involving a lone cyclist on Scenic Caves Road in The Blue Mountains.  An investigation determined that the cyclist was coming down Scenic Caves Road and subsequently lost control of the bicycle which led to the crash. The adult male cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene and a post-mortem examination is scheduled for the coming days.

Scenic Caves Road was closed for several hours, but was re-opened just after 11 p.m. last night. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
