HPHA announces another temporary emergency department closure at local hospital

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance is announcing another upcoming temporary closure of one of their emergency departments.

A release from the HPHA states that the Seaforth Community Hospital Emergency Department will close on Tuesday, August 16th at 5 p.m. It will reopen on Wednesday, August 17th at 7 a.m. and  regular 24/7 hours of operation will resume then. Once again, HPHA says that the upcoming closure in Seaforth is due to ongoing healthcare staffing issues, which are being made more  challenging by COVID-19.

The release again states that "anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will remain available to the community and will re-route to the nearest available Emergency Department to ensure local residents continue to have access to the emergency services they need."

The closest 24-hour Emergency Departments* to the Seaforth Community Hospital are: Goderich – Alexandra Marine & General Hospital Exeter – South Huron Hospital Stratford – HPHA– Stratford General Hospital
