GBHU issues Overdose Alert

The Grey Bruce Health Unit has issued an Overdose Alert.
In a release, GBHU says four drug overdoses within a 24-hour period prompted the alert, with second such alert this month.

Two of the individuals were admitted to hospital, and the health unit notes that none of the overdoses were fatal.

The release notes that the public should treat all street drugs as highly toxic and fatal, and urge anyone taking drugs to not do so alone, and when using with someone else, to avoid using at the same time.

Naloxone and safe drug-use equipment is available at the Grey Bruce Health Unit Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
