Wellington OPP officer charged after minor collision

A Wellington County OPP officer faces charges following a collision involving two marked police cruisers.

A media release said two cruisers collided July 24, 2022, on Wellington Road 109 in Minto while responding to a call for service.

No injuries were reported. As a result of the investigation, a Wellington County OPP Provincial Constable with one year of service has been charged with Follow too Closely.

The officer was issued a Provincial Offence Notice.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
