HPHA announces further emergency department closures

Due to ongoing staff shortages, the Emergency Departments at the St. Marys Memorial Hospital and Seaforth Community Hospital sites of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance will be experiencing a temporary reduction in service.

The Seaforth Community Hospital’s ED will close Sunday, at 5pm, and will resume their regular hours of operation Monday morning, at 7am.

St. Marys Memorial Hospital’s ED will close at 5pm Monday, and reopen at 7am Tuesday. It will then close again at 7pm Tuesday, and stay closed until 7am Saturday.

Increased demands on the healthcare system, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, are leading to staffing vacancies. These pressures will continue into the fall.
