Perth East celebrates unveiling of new pavilion

A grand opening was held this week for the new Perth East Recreation Complex Park Pavilion in Milverton.

The gathering for the opening of the new pavilion was held on the morning of August 24th, with the new structure sitting in the centre of the rec complex property. The new pavilion will be a gathering place for the community, outfitted with washrooms and a kitchenette. In the past, the release states the community has used the pavilion for "family gatherings, picnics, fundraising BBQs, senior’s yoga class, hobby shows, engagement parties, swim meets and the event venue for the Dusty Nostril bike road race.

Perth East shares in the release that the total cost of $480,000 was funded through an infrastructure grant from both the federal government and the Province of Ontario, and a gracious donation from Bill Gies.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
