Police charge youth driver following investigation into fatal crash

A 17-year-old driver has been arrested and charged following a police investigation into a fatal crash near Goderich this summer.

Just before midnight on July 30th, Huron County OPP officers responded alongside Huron County Paramedic Services and the Goderich Fire Department to a collision involving a single vehicle on Golf Course Road just west of Lucknow Line (Huron County #1). 18-year-old Euan Muir of Goderich died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old Central Huron native, has been arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.

The accused has been released from custody, and has a court date scheduled in Goderich in the near future to answer to the charge.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
