Huron County Council asked to Join Huron Paramedicine

Huron County councillors have asked staff to come back to council with a report on a proposal from the Acting Director of the Huron Perth & Area Ontario Health Team.

Selina Hazlitt explained her presentation was about inviting Huron County council to join the Ontario Health Team as formal members for the Huron Paramedicine group, Huronlea and Huronview long term care homes.

Hazlitt said one of the things that's unique to Huron Perth and Area from an Ontario Health Team perspective is the vast amount of membership from the area. She says when the collaboration was formed, it was important that every health care organization where a patient may receive care or knowledge about their health, is engaged in it, to ensure that continuity of care for patients in the area.

Hazlitt said she understands the municipal election could delay a response from the county, but she's hoping to have that response by the end of this year or early next year.
