Wiarton boat launch closed until November

A popular boat launch to Georgian Bay has been closed for repairs.

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula says the Wiarton boat launch is closed until November in order to complete necessary repairs and improvements to a nearby breakwall, which is a federal project initiated by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

A walkway leading to a nearby pier will also be repaired, while a new walkway will be added to the top of the breakwall, as well as some lighting.

While the repairs are taking place, anyone looking for a boat launch is encouraged to use launches located in Sauble Beach, Lion's Head or Big Bay.
