UPDATE: Police ID body found at Elora Gorge

Wellington OPP say a person found dead by the Irvine River in Elora was a 67-year-old man from Waterloo

In a statement released Friday, police said they were called to an area of John Street in Elora around 2:40 p.m Thursday for a report of a person lying along the river in the Elora Gorge.

Centre Wellington Fire Rescue and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics responded but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is on going.
