Area of Meaford blocked off for a police investigation

Meaford residents are being asked to avoid an area of Albert Street between Thompson Street and Birchwood Court.

Grey Bruce OPP say they were called the area around 4:49 a.m. today for a person in medical distress. Grey County Paramedics took the person to hospital in critical condition.

Albert Street remains closed while police investigate however in a release officers say there is no risk to the public.

More information will be provided when it becomes available.

Anyone who may have witnessed the event or may have security footage is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report online at www.opp.ca/reporting. Should you wish to remain anonymous you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
