UPDATE: Crash closes local roadway, police looking for driver who fled the scene

**Updated as of 11:50 a.m., October 11, 2022**

The Wellington County OPP say a crash that has closed a local roadway is now being investigated as a hit-and-run.

Just before 10 a.m. on October 11, police confirmed via Twitter that a crash has closed a portion of Wellington Road 2 outside the Town of Minto. Officers say they responded around 8:30 a.m. along with Guelph Wellington Paramedic Services and local fire departments to a report of an injured cyclist on Wellington Road 2 at Regency Drive. The cyclist, a 21-year-old Clifford native, has been airlifted via ORNGE ambulance to a trauma centre with serious injuries.

Wellington County OPP are asking for the driver of the vehicle involved to come forward. If you have any information regarding this crash, contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Police say Regency Drive is accessible from the north, but they are advising drivers to avoid the area for now.
