Moorefield grass snowmobile drag races set for Saturday

The Optimist Club of Moorefield is set to host the third annual Moorefield snowmobile drag races.

President Nathan Poechman says the event has been growing since it's inception.

He says about 600 spectators and about 130 racers are expected, despite the rain in the forecast.

"So this year we're hoping for a lot better weather, and we could possibly have about a thousand spectators and upward maybe even 160 plus racers this year," he added.

The drag races take place Saturday, October 15, 2022  at Driscoll Farms, located at 7153 Side Rd 12  in Moorefield. Registration starts at 7:00 a.m. and the races start at 10:30a.m. There will also be a sled show and shine as well as a swap meet from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

There will be food and beverage vendors on site. Admission is $15 and kids under 12 are free. This is a cash only event.
