Overnight closure announced at another local emergency department

Another local emergency department will be closing for a night.

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance says the Seaforth Community Hospital will close its emergency department on Saturday, October 22 from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. on October 23. The HPHA says regular ED hours will resume in Seaforth when it reopens on the Sunday. The closure is again due to staffing shortages.

"Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will remain available to the community and will re-route to the nearest available Emergency Department. For non-urgent health care, call Health Connect Ontario at 811, which is available 24/7 for non-emergency health related questions," the HPHA stated.

The closest 24-hour Emergency Departments to the Seaforth Community Hospital are: Goderich – Alexandra Marine & General Hospital Exeter – South Huron Hospital Stratford – HPHA– Stratford General Hospital
