AMDSB hosting job fair

The Avon Maitland District School Board is hosting a job fair at the Listowel District Secondary School.

Recruitment and Retention Officer, Hannah Carr, says the Career Fair is specifically for support staff positions.

“Support staff positions could be anywhere from educational assistant, our early childhood educators, which are supporting students in the kindergarten class, our secretary and office administration staff, as well as technical resource assistants as well as custodians,” said Carr.

Carr says the hope is that an in-person job fair might attract some people who might not be comfortable logging into a computer and applying, but would feel more comfortable with an in-person meeting.

“We're currently recruiting for casual call-ins, however any of those employment opportunities can lead into long term assignments and permanent employment, which would also offer a full pension with OMERS as well as health and dental benefits,” she added.

The Job Fair is being held on Thursday, October 27, from 3:00-5:00pm at the Listowel District Secondary School at 155 Maitland Ave in Listowel.
