More female municipal politicians elected in Grey Bruce

The Grey Bruce volunteer group electHernow.ca says the number of female municipal politicians in Grey Bruce edged up to 29 per cent.

Prior to Monday's election, the figure was 27 per cent. In the Grey Bruce region, 51 per cent of the population is female.

At the County level, 38% of Bruce County Council positions are held by women and 28% of Grey County Council positions are held by women.

Voter turnout in Grey Bruce ranged from about 27% to over 43% in Monday's municipal election.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
