Motorcycle operator taken to a trauma centre following crash

A two-vehicle collision sent a motorcycle operator to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

It happened Sunday around 4 p.m. in Mapleton Township. Wellington OPP say an SUV and a motorcycle collided in the intersection of Wellington Road 8 and Wellington Road 10.

OPP, Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and local fire departments all responded to the scene.

No one else was seriously hurt in the collision.

The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation.

Police closed Wellington Road 8 from Sideroad 12 to Sideroad 6 for the investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
