Stratford Police arrest a suspect holding what appeared to be a handgun

A Stratford man, accused of shooting at ducks in a pond, was arrested at gunpoint.

Stratford Police said they were called to the area of Culliton Street and Forman Avenue around 5 p.m. Friday, October 28th for reports of a man shooting at ducks in the storm pond with a black handgun.

In a release, police said when officers found the man outside a nearby residence, he was still holding the gun which appeared to be a Glock pistol.

Officers drew their weapons and took him into custody without incident. The gun was found to be a Glock-style replica BB gun.

Police said the gun looked very similar to the Glock pistol all Stratford Police officers carry.

A 22-year-old is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and mischief. He is due in court in December.
