Willow Creek Bridge repairs complete

Bruce County has announced repairs to the Willow Creek Bridge on the Bruce County Rail Trail near Paisley are complete.

The bridge was closed after it was heavily damaged due a a fire in the Spring of 2021, which meant the closure of the Rail Trail between Victoria Street in Paisley and the Bruce-Greenock North Road.

Non-motorized users can now access the bridge and trail, while it is expected to reopen to motorized users in the spring of 2023.

Repairs to the bridge included the construction of new beams, railings, and decking.

“The Bruce County Rail Trail is a key part of our active transportation system and a valuable recreational opportunity for County residents,” adds Amanda Froese, Director of Transportation and Environmental Services. “The reconstruction of the Willow Creek Bridge was an important priority this summer and we thank the public for their patience and understanding while this work was underway.”
