Upper Grand trustees ready to tackle major tasks during new term

The Upper Grand District School Board faces some significant tasks over its next term.

That's according to Guelph Trustee Ralf Mesenbrink, who was elected as Chair of the board at the inaugural meeting Tuesday.

He said the board needs to get to work on a governance review by the Board of Trustees, and developing the Board's Multi-Year Plan. The Board will be hiring a Human Rights Advisor to support the Equity pillar of the Multi-Year Plan.

He added other areas of focus include addressing learning gaps in students, supporting staff, and listening to families and communities.

“Congratulations to Trustee Mesenbrink on being elected Chair of the Board and welcome to the 2022-26 Board of Trustees,” said Director of Education Peter Sovran. “I am looking forward to  working together to realize ‘Vision 2026’ as outlined in our new Multi-Year Plan, and to our ongoing commitment to all UGDSB students, staff, families and communities.”
