Driver sustains life-threatening injuries in single car crash in Bruce County

Police are reminding motorists of the importance of winter driving safety following an incident in Bruce County.

A driver is in hospital receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries following an accident in Brant Township.

At about 8:40 a.m. Friday, South Bruce OPP, along with the Elmwood Fire Department and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services, responded to a report of a crash involving a single vehicle along Bruce County Road 19.

Officials say a vehicle had left the roadway and came to rest in a creek.

The driver was airlifted to a London hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is in its early stages. Updates will be provided as they become available.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
