Illegal drugs and stolen property recovered by police

Police have arrested and charged two people after officers seized illegal drugs and stolen property.

An investigation began a few months ago into potential illegal activity at a property on Concession 4 in Arran Township. On November 15, members of the OPP, the Community Street Crimes Unit, West Region Emergency Response Team, OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, OPP Canine and South Bruce OPP executed a search warrant at the property.

Officers seized a large quantity of methamphetamine that police say is worth over $11,000. Police also recovered a large amount of stolen property, including a Ford F150 pick-up truck, a Dodge Ram pick-up truck, a Dodge Charger, snowmobiles, an ATV, power tools and numerous guns and ammunition. The value of the stolen property is $89,700. As a result, a 53-year-old and a 48-year-old, both from Arran-Elderslie, are facing a lengthy list of charges including possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and numerous weapons related charges.

Both of the suspects remain in custody. Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
