Collision south of Mildmay claims one life

A collision south of Mildmay claimed the life of one person and sent another to hospital with serious injuries.

South Bruce OPP said in a statement released late Thursday night that they were called to the collision on Bruce County Road 6 and Bruce County Road 28 just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Two vehicles had collided in the intersection.

Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team are assisting with the investigation. The intersection was closed for several hours Thursday night but has since reopened.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
