Woman charged in Harriston collision

A Harriston women is facing charges in connection with a fail-to-remain collision.

In a statement released Friday morning, Wellington County OPP said the collision between an SUV and a sedan happened on Elora Street around 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The driver of the SUV was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Witnesses told police the sedan sped away from the scene after the collision. They were also able to get pictures of the vehicle and its driver.

Police arrested and charged a 51-year-old woman with impaired and careless driving offenses and failure to stop after an accident.

The accused is due in Guelph court at a later date.
