Police warn against sharing intimate photos after North Perth resident extorted

Provincial police are warning people against sharing intimate photos after a person in North Perth was allegedly extorted.

Perth County OPP said in a statement released Thursday, they were called to a home on Tuesday and were told by the complainant that he had sent an explicit picture to a person he had met through a cellphone app.

The victim told police he was told to send money or the picture would be sent to his friends and family.

Police are warning people to be vigilant when engaging in online chats saying "once it's out there, you can't get it back."
