The next Warden of Grey County will be elected on Tuesday, December 6.
Grey County Clerk Tara Warder confirms the county received two nominations for warden, with both having previous experience in the warden's chair.
New Southgate Mayor Brian Milne announced his intention to seek the position on November 10. Milne previously served as warden in 2014.
Current Deputy Warden and Grey Highlands Mayor Paul McQueen has also put his name forward. McQueen was warden in 2020.
Grey County is guaranteed to have a new warden for 2023 after Selwyn Hicks was defeated in his reelection bid for deputy mayor in Hanover by Warren Dickert. Hicks has been warden for each of the last two years.
