So far in 2022, home sales are well behind the torrid pace set in 2021 in Huron and Perth Counties.
The Huron Perth Association of Realtors said sales dropped by 26.5 per cent in November 2022 compared to a year ago. During the month of November, 122 units sold.
So far this year, 1,828 homes have changed hands. That's a decline of 19.3 per cent from the same period last year.
In November, the MLS Home Price Index composite benchmark price dropped by 3.6 per cent year-over-year to $540,000.
The year-to-date average price was up about 14 per cent to $671,491 .
New listings were 15.8 per cent above the five-year average and 17.7 per cent above the 10-year average for the month of November.
“MLS home sales in our region continued to be subdued in November. On the bright side, when factoring in seasonal trends, sales appear to be stabilizing over the last couple of months,” said Julie Heitbohmer, President of the Huron Perth Association of Realtors. “New listings continued at a steady pace, helping to keep overall inventory close to historically average levels. With the holiday season right around the corner it is reasonable to expect, as with most years, market activity will remain muted heading into the end of the year and into early 2023.”
