Funding will help Bruce County explore a seniors sharing program

The County of Bruce will use a $60,000 Inclusive Community Grant on its Exploring a Bruce County Seniors Home Sharing Program.

A consultant will report back to the county on the necessary next steps to promote inclusivity for older adults and persons with disabilities.

MPP Lisa Thompson announced the funding Thursday, and said it will help to properly plan out the infrastructure needed to care for citizens now and in the future.

Bruce County Warden Chris Peabody said the money will allow them to explore options and opportunities in setting up a Seniors Home Sharing program in Bruce County.

He said a home share program could bring together seniors with available space in their home with individuals seeking an affordable place to live.
