High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Huron County OPP were on-scene for a lengthy period at what they're calling a serious collision, where they have now confirmed that one person has died.
Just after 1 p.m. on January 12, OPP tweeted that they were on-scene at a serious crash on Huron Road east of Clinton. Police stated that Huron Road is closed between Front Road and Kinburn Line due to the three vehicle crash. Local EMS transported two of the drivers to a local hospital, where one driver succumbed to their injuries.
Police re-opened the roadway just before 10 p.m. More details as they are made available by police.
