Manslaughter charges laid after fatal overdose in Saugeen Shores

A Kitchener resident faces charges of manslaughter and trafficking in a controlled substance in connection to a fatal overdose.

Saugeen Shores Police officers were called to a home back in 2021 for a fatal overdose investigation.

Members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service Criminal Investigations Unit arrested and charged 28-year-old Christine Seibert of Kitchener  on Tuesday, January 31.

The incident remains under investigation.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
