Trio face drug possession charges after bust in Wroxeter

Three people face charges relating to a police investigation in Wroxeter that turned up various items and illicit drugs.

Last Thursday, members of the Huron-Perth and Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a search warrant at a home on Centre Street.

During the probe, officers reportedly located and seized property including digital scales, electronics, prohibited knives, brass knuckles, a modified pistol grip pellet gun, $500 in Canadian cash and live rounds of ammunition. Police say they also obtained unspecified quantities of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Police estimate the value of the property at $2,330 and the value of the substances at $3,800.

As a result the three accused, ages 30, 34 and and 48, are jointly charged with possession of a schedule I substance.

The 34-year-old accused from Howick faces additional charges of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of failing to comply with probation, three counts of failing to comply with a release order, eight counts of possession contrary to a prohibition order, and two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The 48-year-old accused from Durham faces an additional charge of breach of recognizance.

All three are scheduled for future court dates.
